Bike Crew BBQ, a prelude

The delightful bike crew decided to throw a little barbeque the past weekend, it was a brilliant of course. Preluding the bbq we did a bit of pre-party planning and shopping (locally of course, because apparently we are hipsters). And then we hung about in the beautiful overgrown garden being silly.

getting ready to go out

So here I am home alone on a friday night, it's been quite a long time since that's occurred. I forgot how fun it can be getting all sparkled up while listening to music and dancing like a tit around the house. I hope everyone's weekends are off to a great start, pump up some music and get out of the house!

mmmbackstage

I think it's been rather a long while since I've done a photo-shoot related post, so here we go. This serves mainly to remind you that I actually do work and don't just spend my time jet-setting to far-flung places and being generally amazeballs. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting the actor Marios Demetriou for the upcoming issue of Omikron Magazine. It was a fun shoot as we got to be really random and outlandish and not the usual pretty/styley/perfect/posey. I had two lovely friends helping me out as extra's, and they got into character so well, as did Marios who took to his villainous role with exceptional ease. I was also blown away by my make up artist of the day, Crystal Michael, who I had the pleasure of working with for the first time. She really brought the characters to life and complemented the styling perfectly. Also, I found a giraffe. So that was cool too.
Hope you enjoy the pics and check out the full shoot in the next Omikron

La Galère

This is one of the most magic places in the world to me. It fills me with a sense of calm, the outside world ceases to exist and I am blissfully happy. Days spent tanning, swimming, eating well, drinking copious cocktails, and always excellent godsisterly company, it's the kind of place you never want to leave. The time spent there always seems to go by much too fast, but at the same time three revitalising days energise you in such a way that it feels like a month. I don't really know how to explain what this place does to me, to my insides, to my heart.

Every hour of the day here holds some kind of magic in the light and the way it hits the water, the rocks, the trees, the island.
morning
lunch
dusk
sunset
full moon
In between waxing lyrical on how amazing everything is, and the ridiculousness of whining about irrelevant things like "oh god, it hurts my arms so much to have to hold my book up like this, but I simply cannot roll over- I'm not ready to tan my back yet" - there is the obligatory sillyness and excessive drinking -

our basket of essentials - suncream, tanning lotion, leg knives (pink), underwater camera casing for the waterproofing of certain goods on swimming trips (revitalising kit-kats and such)
Dermot 'edward cullen from Twilight' Ryan ready for the swim
day time drinking is totes acceptable
but we also enlighten our minds on global affairs...while drinking and tanning
we make poses in fluorescent tops, like awesomesauce douchebags
D does thoughtful looking day-drinking
We take our baby-foot tournaments very seriously.
But not as seriously as we take our tanning/intercostals.
' The Triple Cherry'
' Dermot's Disaster ' (actually delicious)
After Cocktail hour we are good children and have communal tooth-brushing and get to bed at respectable hours.

slacker

Sorry for being somewhat of a slack-alice lately, got caught up in wedding-ing, weekend shenanigans and whatnot. But you know, I have to experience things in order to be able to have some sort of excitement to write about, no?
The main highlight of late was being the maid of honour for my lovely ladyfriend Tania. I am no good with churches and priests, and weddings and tears... I'm good at the drinking and dancing portion of the evening so I did ok then... but I was a bit of a nervous mess until the booze started flowing. Especially as I had many awkwardly hilarious tasks to perform that I was unawares of... like dancing round the bride to a room full of people. Yeah I looked like a tit. But it was awesome. I also managed to behave somewhat normalsaucely in the church, which took a great deal of restraint on my part, especially when I was forced to embellish the truth about being baptised to the priest (I thought the church would burst into flames). But all went relatively dramz free, which was awesome. And the party was great- dancing round barefoot like a little child is always fun.

The rest of the weekend was sun-filled and fancy-free, my tan is getting pretty epic already considering it is only May (biggest benefit of living on a sunny island)
Roof tanning madness
Little ladybird friend that attacked me on the beach!
That would be my posey suntan face.
And as I haven't actually uploaded many of my finished shoots, but rather just silly behind the scenes shots, here are some of my latest Cosmopolitan editorials -
Cosmopolitan March issue. Photographer- Panagiotis Mina, Styling- Shona Muir. Hair- Marios Neofytou Make up- Ilona Garamvolgyi Model- Janna (Ace Models Greece)

Cosmopolitan April Issue. Photographer- Panagiotis Mina. Styling- Shona Muir. Hair- Costandinos Manjiokas Make up- Eliana Mandrides Model- Paulina (Ace Models Greece)

Cosmopolitan May Issue. Photographer- Panagiotis Mina. Styling- Shona Muir. Hair- Costandinos Manjiokas Make up- Ilona Garamvolgyi Models- Katie and Toffi (Voch Models Cyprus)

So there you have it, all the running around and organising and sillyness on shoot days all culminates in this- Pretty cool no?
